Eighteenth Century Stourcastle Lodge, tucked away down a twisty lane off the market square in Sturminster Newton, is situated in the heart of Dorset's Blackmore Vale. There is so much to enjoy here: beautiful countryside on your doorstep, grand houses to visit, and historic Dorchester just a short drive away. Using our beautiful guest house as your base, explore the full expanse of Dorset's beautiful coastline to the South.

Stourcastle Lodge has been a family home from the beginning of the eighteenth century. Originally a thatched cottage known as 'Orchard Farm Cottage', it has been renovated in the traditional style over the last 300 years. Central to the medieval market town of Sturminster Newton, the secluded Lodge is easily recognised by its slate roof and tall white chimneys. The beautiful guest bedrooms all overlook the  Lodge's delightful cottage style gardens. Traditionally decorated, yet equipped with all 'mod-cons', they provide the perfect place to luxuriate at the end of your day. In the warmer summer months you can relax on the south facing terrace. On chilly evenings, laze around the blazing log fire in the cosy sitting room.

Jill and Ken, who have owned the Lodge since 1982, will always offer the friendliest of welcomes. Jill is an accomplished chef, producing the most delicious dishes on the old fashioned Aga which generates a special warmth throughout the kitchen. Don't worry if you have special dietary needs - all can be expertly catered for. Our dining room, containing Ken's collection of antique kitchenalia, also overlooks the Lodge's verdant gardens.

We look forward to making your stay a happy one. Refreshed from your break at Stourcastle lodge, you can return to everyday life revitalised...
